Pickled Red Onion

Elevate your dishes with the tangy crunch of homemade pickled red onions—simple to make, bursting with flavor, and the perfect zesty addition to any meal!

 
 

🍽 Servings: total 1L 🕓 Prep Time: 10 mins 🕓 Cook Time: 5 mins

 

INGREDIENTS

◦ 2 red onions
◦ 1 1/2 cup water
◦ 1 1/2 cup white vinegar
◦ 1/3 cup cane sugar
◦ 2 tsp salt
◦ 2 tsp mixed peppercorns

INSTRUCTIONS

1. In a pot, add the water, vinegar, sugar, salt and peppercorns. Bring it to a boil and let simmer until the sugar and salt is melted (couple of minutes). Let it cool.

2. Cut your onions into thin rings. Split into 2 jars of 500ml. Add your liquid.

3. Refrigerate overnight. Top these delicious pickled onions on your salads, toast, tacos, etc.

Keep up to 2 weeks.
